FOR GOD AND GOLD
This is an original 1887 copy of this book written by Julian Corbett.  The publisher is given as London Macmillan and Co.  and New York.  The book was printed in Edinburgh.   It has a decorative green cloth cover embossed in gold with a war ship under sail.  This book is really in very good condition.  I believe it is the second book of fiction written by this English author.   The first was titled The Fall of Asgard.  At age 45 after completing several other novels, Corbett was urged by his wife to give up writing fiction and to write serious historical works.  He thereafter devoted himself to Naval History becoming England's authority on the topic.
